A basic recipe for ginger tea is to cut the fresh ginger into small pieces and add to boiling water and allowed to steep for 10 to 15 minutes. Add hone and lemon to taste. An herbalist will mix a mixture known as eyebright that can be used several ways to treat eyes and maintain eye health. Steep eyebright in boiling water for 10 to 15 minutes then strain the mixture. Using the remaining liquid and allowing the mixture to cool, the eyebright tea can be used with a cotton ball to bathe the eye area or used on a wash cloth as a compress.
