Herbs For Hair : Best Care of Your Hair With Herbs

April 21, 2011 | By More

Hairs are formed in tiny pockets called follicles. Each hair has a root and an up-growth called papilla. Melanocytes in follicles produce melanin, a pigment that determines hair color. When production of melanin stops, hair turns gray. Cells in papilla produce keratin, a protein which makes hair. When keratin production slows down, it leads to hair loss and ‘alopecia’ or baldness.
