There is renewal of the body every month. Normally this shedding goes unnoticed. What some scientists have discovered is that those with dandruff have more than normal shedding of dead skin cells. This increased shedding is due to a fungus that is normally found on the skin and has gone out of control, producing this increase growth that also increases the shedding or dandruff.
